Palm has finally took off the gloves and they're coming out swinging later this year with their version of the smartphone. With iPhone's and Blackberry Storms cleaning up the market why not join the competition? And so they shall... Early word has it that the Palm smartphone will be named the Palm "Pre". And some of the features it will carry is a noticable 3.1-inch 320x480 touchscreen; 3 megapixel camera, a QWERTY keypad that slides out from the bottom...absilutely sexy if you ask me.... Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, and accelerometer that senses how you hold the the palm to allow you for horizontal widescreen browsing, 8 gig of internal memory and get this... a wireles charger.

A FREAKIN WIRELESS CHARGER!!!!... how cool is that... The phone weighs about 4.8 ounces and ergonomically fits nicely in the users hand.

One of the nicest features is this phone uses a new platform called Web OS. Basically this will allow developers who use CSS, HTML and XML the ability to create apps for the OS without having to learn a new language. Sounds like the skies the limits with this one.

Details are early, as this phone has just been announced and more information will deinitely follow but I can gurantee this phone will turn heads. The carriers of this phone is said to be exclusively available to Sprint and released in the first half in the United States in 2009. Its nice to see Palm start off the New Year with a bang.
